The transition to school is not always easy for parents and children alike. Through our School Ready Voyagers program, we equip children with the skills and independence necessary to make the process as seamless as possible and give them the best chance of academic success. By nurturing children’s natural curiosity and personal interests, our educators encourage children to develop their skills within a positive and encouraging learning environment.
Children at Little Voyagers quickly develop a high level of self-confidence and the foundations necessary to excel at school and within their everyday lives. We hope to instil a lifelong love of learning within every child, with our educators taking a keen interest in the physical and mental wellbeing of each child and encouraging them to participate to the best of their abilities. Easing into the new routine, demanding tasks, rules and expectations of the school environment can be quite daunting for children. For this reason, we familiarise children with these aspects ahead of time so that they are prepared and eagerly await the next phase of their educational journey.

Effective learning at big school requires dedication, confidence and a sense of belonging. It is important to develop the skills and abilities necessary for success within the early childhood setting, when children are starting to form their own identities and an understanding of the environment around them. By the time they are ready to move on from Little Voyagers, most children exhibit a high level of self-confidence, ability to take on new challenges and a strong sense of belonging within the educational setting.
Numeracy and literacy skills are developed within a play-based setting, helping to prepare your child for the reading, writing and arithmetic they will undertake at school. Utilising the phonemic awareness program Jolly Phonics, we make the learning process fun and accessible to all children. This program encourages achievement and development of reading and writing skills through seeing, hearing, feeling and doing. Children feel a great sense of accomplishment when learning letter sounds, letter formation, blending and how to identify sounds in words.
We also offer an extensive range of activities to develop literacy and numeracy skills and foster independence, including:
- Reading and Storytelling
- Singing
- Questions and Answers
- Counting
- Writing names and places
- Ordering shapes/objects
- How to use a pencil
