A Holistically Informed Approach to Early Childhood LearningLittle Voyagers believe that children obtain the best educational experience through a healthy balance between play based and structured learning, and this is at the centre of our educational program and curriculum. Designed by an Early Childhood teacher in consultation with Certificate III and Diploma trained educators, our educational curriculum takes a holistic approach to education. Recognising that children have specific emotional needs; we nurture and encourage emotional, social, language, cognitive, spiritual, physical and creative growth.
Drawing upon the Early Years Learning Framework, we take a child centred approach and utilise intentional teaching. Children are given the opportunity to express their views and unique interests, creating a positive and enriching environment for staff and children alike. Children quickly develop a strong love of learning whilst fostering a sense of independence, two qualities which will last a lifetime. Through non-structured interaction with their peers, they also develop an informed understanding of social interaction, taking turns, resilience, flexibility, determination and curiosity.
Staff take a keen interest in the development of each child, homing in on their personality, strengths and interests to create a rewarding learning experience. Staff often utilise open ended questions to challenge understanding, stimulate debate and inspire new ways of thinking. The ideal balance between intentional teaching moments and spontaneous moments makes for a highly rewarding and enriching experience at Little Voyagers.
